Linda Upham Ellis

Linda Upham just received a Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation (Human Systems) program University of Central Florida. She holds a M.S. in Modeling and Simulation and a B.S in Computer Science from UCF. She has worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Simulation and Training since 2000, contributing to projects including the Immersive Jukebox (Showcased at ACM SIGraph’s SIGKids 2002), Augmented Reality studies, Virtual Fieldtrip educational software that teaches context for vocabulary to 2nd grade students with immersive content, and Robot-Human interaction studies focusing on form-motivated attributions. Publications involving the HRI research include conference proceedings and poster publications at the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meetings in 2005, 2004, and 2003, poster presentations in 2005 at the American Psychological Society, American Psychological Association, International Society for Anthrozoology, and in 2004 at the Southeastern Psychological Society. Linda currently works with the Applied Cognition and Technology (ACAT) Research Lab with Dr. Valerie Sims and Dr. Mathew Chin. Her research continues to focus on human-robot interaction and human-technology interface design.
